Day of the Remembrance

November 18 Action “Following the rules we save lives”

According to statistics, in Kyrgyzstan more than 1000 people die by road accidents per year. Only this year, 62 children and 458 adults died on the roads of the country. In half of the cases of fatal accidents, there is a relationship with one or more of the main risk factors (exceeding the permissible driving speed, exposure to alcohol, neglecting helmets, seat belts and child restraints).

PA “Road Safety” and PF Pro Lex named after Temir Dzhumakadyrov, in close cooperation with the Road Traffic Police of the KR with the support of the OSCE and the UNDP, held a number of events dedicated to the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in the country.

November 18 Action “Following the rules we save lives”

The action’s purpose was to encourage road users to follow the rules of the road and demonstrate a positive change in behavior.

We were joined by other activists: children of school number 12, volunteers Of the red Crescent of Kyrgyzstan. The children were so happy that they benefit the country, how important it is to feel your importance from childhood! And one of the volunteers said that: “I’m happy because I saved someone’s life today!”.

During the campaign were handed booklets on the topic of safe behavior on the road, as well as explanatory work with drivers and pedestrians. Children from school № 12 in Bishkek read their appeals and letters addressed to adults.
